Rice Village offers four levels of care for older people ranging from independent living units to high care nursing home accommodation.
Mercy Place Rice Village has nearly 100 residents accommodated in independent living units, serviced apartments, hostel and nursing home rooms.Respite care is also provided for local families.
The ‘village’ provides residents with modern facilities located within landscaped gardens complete with a gazebo and BBQ area.Other amenities include a multipurpose area with a large TV, library, craft room, hairdressing service, lounges and a bar.
Mercy Place Rice Village is committed to research and development. Grants from Alzheimer’s and Associated Diseases Association of Australia has funded research into multisensory environments and their impact on the wellbeing of patients with dementia.
This research indicated one-on-one care had a consistently positive impact on residents. As a result, these factors are incorporated into staff education and care programs.
