Mercy Health recognised as an Employer of Choice for Women

Mercy Health's position as an Australian leader in driving change for a more equitable workplace has been reinforced following the awarding of an Employer of Choice for Women citation for the second consecutive year.

The citation was announced this morning by the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workforce Agency (EOWA).

This citation comes on the back of Mercy Health's win at the 2008 EOWA Business Achievement Awards in Melbourne.  Mercy Health Chief Executive, John Ballard was named Leading CEO for the Advancement of Women, recognising his leadership and personal commitment to an inclusive workplace culture that enhances workplace outcomes for women.

Mercy Health offers a range of flexible work policies, practices and programs to all of our people, assisting them to integrate and balance their careers with the demands of life.

Mairi Steele, Acting Director of the EOWA, congratulated Mercy Health for its leadership in forging equal opportunity in the workplace.

"Mercy Health again raises the bar for what it means to be an Employer of Choice for Women," she said.
